These tasty rich dark chocolate orange truffles taste amazing and are great for dinner parties, leave yourself time for them to set.
Ingredients:
- 200g (7oz) dark chocolate
- 150ml (¼ pint) double cream
- 25g (1oz) butter, diced
- 2½ tsp orange essence
- Chocolate sprinkles
Method:
- Break the chocolate into pieces in a heatproof bowl, with the cream and butter and simmer over a low heat until the chocolate has melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Pour into a freezer container and freeze for 2 hours until firm.
- Using a teaspoon or a melon baller, scoop the mixture into balls. Roll in the chocolate sprinkles to coat and pop into a mini cake case. Chill until ready.
Top tips:
- To scoop the truffles easily, dip the teaspoon or melon baller in hot water first so it glides through the mixture.
- If you find the mixture is melting, pop back in the freezer for 15mins. Ensuring your previously made truffles are in the fridge.
