This weeks highlights..

This weeks been a busy one, instead of ordering a takeaway I decided to make a chinese banquet, think I made far too much… but it was delicious and everything went so well together.  You will be surprised how filling chinese hot and sour soup is especially when you have some left over and you go back for seconds!  This chow mein dish is so tasty, this version is with chicken but you could add beef strips, pork or even prawns.  Had a go a making some battered chicken balls I had so much fun making these and they go so well with Sweet and sour sauce, and the good thing about making your own chicken balls, you end up with a lot more than what you get a takeaway.

Chicken breast with creamy wine and tarragon sauce  is one of our favourtie chicken dishes and with the creamy tarragon sauce is perfect with mash potato and it all soaks up well together.

If you like creamy fish dishes, you will love this. When I made this cheesy, haddock and leek gratin, I didn’t realise how tasty it was going to be, served with peas on the side, it didn’t take long to demolish.

Lots of birthdays get don’t get as much attention this time of year, it’s my partners birthday just before Christmas so he knows how it feels, so making this quick and simple Victoria sponge party cake is perfect for any occassion.

If you’ve got any left over egg yolks and not sure what to do with them for, make these Orange and Almond thins, when I made them they were so moreish that I made a second batch to go with my afternoon cuppa tea at work.

That’s it for this week, hope you had a good one.
