This weeks highlights are a mixture of dinners (comforting and light) and a pudding, that seemed to go very well….
My dad came for dinner, so instead of buying a pudding I decided to make a Chocolate raspberry roulade, this is the first time I’ve ever attempted to make one and didn’t realise how much fun and easy it was to make….won’t be buying shop bought ones in the future….will be experimenting with the filling so watch this space!
After a weekend of roast and indulgence, I needed something a bit light, and what better than Sweet and sour chicken, this truly is a treat, you feel like you have a takeaway but infact it’s homecooked and very light.
Mid-week I like to cook something slow cooked, so made this Sausage and onion gravy, you’re probably thinking why slow cook sausages? Try it…the sausages are soft, the gravy is flavoursome and dished up in the giant Yorkshire pudding (shop bought I must confess!) this is definitely one of those comfort foods.
Talking of comfort foods, Cauliflower cheese is one of my favourites, so tasty I try to save some for the following day or on the side of a roast….very delicious.
These Roasted garlic new potatoes are so delicious and take no extra time at all. They are a perfect compliment to my Cheesy cod gratin or as side dish.
Have a great week ahead of you and don’t forget to keep checking in as more recipes will be added….
